To host an installation of eyeOS, you need a Web Server with PHP Support. eyeOS does not require any database to work (it has its own virtual filesystem). There are thousands of options for hosting and using eyeOS, however, the official support is limited to those which are known to work greatly with eyeOS and all its features:

- Apache Web Server 1.3.x / 2.x.
- PHP 5 or higher.
- Safe Mode = Off.

- Firefox 2 or higher.
- Internet Explorer 7 or higher.

- Adobe Flash 9.x
- DivX Web Player / mediaplayerconnectivity
Note: eyeOS can work without any plugin installed. However, some browser plugins can provide better experience

- PHP v4.x Note: If you are using PHP4, please use eyeOS 1.1.0.1. eyeOS 1.2 only works with PHP5 or higer.

- Microsoft IIS.
